Kenji Omachi is a lacquer artist. He trained under a well-known lacquer artist in Japan, and after fully learning the traditional Japanese lacquer techniques and philosophy, he started his artistic activities. While continuing to work with traditional lacquer techniques, he has also opened up new frontiers in lacquer art. This is a technique in which Raden is applied to a base formed using a 3D printer with resin, using artificial gemstones called Kyoto opal instead of shells, gold, or silver.
